Fashion has always been powerful to me. It has the power to transform and express our emotional and personal development. Fashion is a way to introduce ourselves without saying a word.
Due to my profession and admittedly also because I am a design addict, I am constantly on the look out for new brands and young designers interpreting establish trends and defining new boundaries. One of these talented young designers is Trang Bui.
Her Berlin-based label “By Bui” is dedicated to elegant and delicate couture dresses – carefully handmade and customised for each client. I have “found” her at an event called “Fashion Hotel” – by the way a worthwhile experience for every fashionista. And as my trip to New York has already been planned I just had to squeeze in a cooperation with her.
I am sure you all know the iconic Peter Lindbergh photography of the 90s supermodels at Manhattan Bridge. (If not, you can check it out here) I have always admired his work and I am the biggest Christy Turlington fan, so I just HAD to shoot there. Fun fact – the images has been shot at 7 am and besides being tierd and jetlagged we only had around 7 degrees.
